What ScreenPal's App Store listing says

ScreenPal Screen Recorder is the iPhone and iPad app from Big Nerd Software, LLC, the company behind ScreenPal, formerly Screencast-O-Matic. Its App Store listing describes a free screen recorder with face cam and audio plus a video editor, with unlimited recording time, ad-free and with no watermarks, in the listing's words.

The feature list covers recording the screen, camera, microphone and internal audio; crop, trim and speed changes; text, filters, effects and music; image, shape and sticker overlays; a blur tool; a stock library of over 15 million items; and video reactions with facecam. Videos save to the camera roll, and an upload to ScreenPal gives a share link.

The listing says a paid plan unlocks editing and sharing on all of your devices and connects the app with ScreenPal's desktop editor. It does not mention live streaming. The app requires iOS 12.0 or iPadOS 12.0 or later, is 74.2 MB, and version 3.0.13 was released on July 9, 2026 with accessibility improvements.

EveryCord is made by Symaro, LLC, so this comparison is not independent. Each fact about ScreenPal is what its App Store listing, plans page, screen recorder page and support article said on October 21, 2026.

Free tier limits: the listing and the plans page differ

The App Store listing says the free iOS app has unlimited recording time. ScreenPal's plans page lists a 15 minute recording limit on the Free plan, along with 10 hosted videos, 3 channels and 720p playback, with an unlimited number of recordings. A support article repeats the 15 minute limit per video on the free plan.

None of those pages say whether the 15 minutes applies to the mobile app. If recording length matters to you, check the app itself before a long session. On watermarks the pages agree: ScreenPal's screen recorder page says it does not place a watermark on any recording, free or paid.

The plans page prices Deluxe at $4.00 a month and Max at $10.00 a month, both paid annually. Deluxe removes the recording limit and adds unlimited hosting, the full video editor, storyboards, speech-to-text captions and standard stock media. Max adds ScreenPal AI, auto-captions and transcriptions, text-to-speech narration, an AI video generator and premium stock assets.

What ScreenPal's pricing means over a year

ScreenPal's listing shows these in-app purchases: Screen Recorder: Deluxe at $8.00, Deluxe Yr at $48.00, Premier at $14.00, Premier Yr at $84.00, Max at $20.00 and at $119.99, and Annual Plan - Unlock Premium at $5.99. The listing does not say which are monthly; the plans page gives Deluxe $4.00 and Max $10.00 a month, paid annually.

Paid annually, Deluxe is 12 times $4.00, or $48.00 a year, which matches the Deluxe Yr purchase. Max is 12 times $10.00, or $120.00, close to the $119.99 Max purchase. Paid monthly through the $8.00 Deluxe purchase, a year would be $96.00; through the $20.00 Max purchase, $240.00.

Premier does not appear on the plans page on October 21, 2026, only in the listing's purchase list. EveryCord costs $0 over a year: there is no subscription and no paid upgrade, and Sparks are optional purchases viewers make in live chat to support streamers.

How EveryCord does it

To record, you open Apple's screen recording controls, pick EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast. EveryCord captures app audio, your microphone or both, at up to 60 fps, in H.264 or HEVC, with no time limit and no watermark. The recording stays on the device unless you share it.

On a saved recording, Facecam adds your camera and voice, which you can move, resize or make a circle. The editor trims, merges, crops, rotates, mirrors, changes speed and adds music, text and filters, then exports at original size, 1080p or 720p. Automatic English captions come from the speech in the recording.

To go live, you sign in to YouTube or Twitch, or paste an RTMP or RTMPS server and stream key, and start up to three outputs at once, each straight from the device at up to 720p at 30 fps and about 3 Mbps.
