About EveryCord
What is EveryCord?
EveryCord is a free screen recorder and live streaming app for iPhone and iPad from Symaro, LLC, on the App Store since February 2018. It records your screen with app audio and your microphone, adds a facecam and automatic captions, edits your videos, and streams to YouTube, Twitch and any RTMP server, up to three at once.
Is EveryCord really free?
Yes. EveryCord is free to download and has no subscription or paid upgrade. Recording, live streaming to up to three platforms, facecam, automatic captions and the video editor are free for everyone, with no watermark and no time limit.
Does EveryCord show ads?
The EveryCord app has no ads from outside advertisers. We plan to show minimal ads only on everycord.net and app.everycord.net to help pay for servers. Ads are not serving yet. The native EveryCord apps will remain free of outside advertising.
Which devices does EveryCord run on?
EveryCord runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 or later. Anyone can watch EveryCord clips and live streams in a web browser.
Who makes EveryCord?
Symaro, LLC. EveryCord is a passion project of Symaro, LLC, fully funded to help people. Its lead engineer, Colton Adamski, has been featured in BBC News and iMore; the press page lists the coverage.
Recording
Does EveryCord add a watermark?
No. EveryCord never adds a watermark or logo to your recordings, live streams or edited videos.
Is there a time limit?
No. EveryCord sets no time limit: recordings and live streams run until you stop them. The free space on your device is the practical limit for recordings.
Can EveryCord record internal audio and my voice?
Yes. Choose App audio, Microphone or App audio + microphone. To include your voice, also turn on the microphone in Apple’s recording controls. App audio depends on what the recorded app makes available.
What quality does EveryCord record at?
Standard, High or Maximum quality, with a frame rate cap of 15, 30 or 60 fps, at full screen resolution or smaller, in H.264 or HEVC. Edited copies export at original size, 1080p or 720p.
Do I need an account?
No. Recording, editing, captions and streaming to a custom RTMP server work without an EveryCord account. Streaming to YouTube or Twitch asks you to sign in to that service. EveryCord Social in the beta uses a free account: sign in with Apple, Google or an email code.
Live streaming
Can I stream to YouTube and Twitch at the same time from my iPhone for free?
Yes. EveryCord streams your iPhone or iPad screen to up to three outputs at once for free: sign in to YouTube and Twitch, or add any RTMP or RTMPS server with a stream key. There is no watermark, no time limit and no subscription.
Can I stream to Kick?
Yes. Add Kick as a custom output with the Stream URL and Stream Key from your Kick dashboard (Channel, then Stream URL and Key). Kick needs RTMPS, which EveryCord supports, and you can stream to Kick, YouTube and Twitch at the same time.
Can I stream to Facebook or X?
Yes, with a stream key. Facebook Live gives a server URL and stream key under Streaming software when you create a live video; your account must be at least 60 days old, and Pages and professional mode profiles need 100 followers. X gives an RTMPS URL and key in Live Studio, and going live on X needs X Premium. Add either one as a custom output in EveryCord.
What quality does EveryCord stream at?
Each output streams at up to 720p and 30 frames per second and uses about 3 Mbps of upload bandwidth, so three outputs need about 9 Mbps plus some room to spare. More outputs also use more battery and memory.
What happens if one stream drops?
Each output connects on its own, so the others keep running. Open Live monitor to check each output’s status, previews and watch links.
Facecam and captions
Can I record my iPhone screen with a facecam for free?
Yes. Record your screen with EveryCord, then choose Add facecam on the recording. EveryCord plays your recording while it films you with the front camera and records your voice, then saves a new video with your camera in a bubble you can move, resize or make a circle. It is free, with no watermark.
How do I add automatic captions for free?
Yes. Open a saved recording in EveryCord and choose Add captions. EveryCord transcribes the speech with Apple’s speech recognition and saves a new copy of the video with the captions on it, so people can follow along with the sound off. It is free, with no watermark.
Which languages do captions support?
English.
The EveryCord 2.5 beta
What is in the EveryCord 2.5 beta?
EveryCord 2.5 is in a free public beta on Apple TestFlight: open https://everycord.net/beta on your iPhone or iPad. It adds going live with up to three friends on camera, Show my camera, live chat, clips with a link anyone can open, Live Now and profiles. Beta builds can contain unfinished features, and features can vary by build.
Can I go live with friends on camera from my iPhone?
In the EveryCord 2.5 public beta, yes. Invite up to three friends, or send an invite link. Each friend joins on camera from their own iPhone, their cameras appear as bubbles in your stream, and you talk together live. It is free with a free EveryCord account. Join the beta at https://everycord.net/beta.
What are Sparks?
Sparks are optional in-app purchases in EveryCord. Viewers send them in live chat to support the streamers they watch, and streamers get half of what EveryCord receives from Apple for the Sparks they’re sent (payouts are available in supported countries). Recording, streaming, co-hosting, chat and clips stay free for everyone.
