How to record your iPhone screen with EveryCord
- Get EveryCord from the App Store. It is free.
- Open EveryCord, choose Record and set the quality, frame rate and audio source.
- Tap Start recording. In Apple’s recording controls, choose EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast. Apple uses that name for every screen capture, including a recording that stays on your device.
- Use the app or game you want to record.
- Stop with the recording indicator at the top of the screen, then open Recordings in EveryCord.
How it compares with the built-in recorder
The Screen Recording control that Apple builds into iOS is free and records your screen, with your microphone if you turn it on, to Photos. EveryCord adds a facecam, captions, an editor and live streaming, also for free.
Good to know
- Frame rate is a cap: the frames you get depend on your device and the app you record.
- App audio depends on what the recorded app makes available.
- Recordings stay in EveryCord until you save them to Photos or share them.
- Captions are in English, and the facecam is added after you record.
Questions and answers
Is EveryCord really free?
Yes. EveryCord is free to download and has no subscription or paid upgrade. Recording, live streaming to up to three platforms, facecam, automatic captions and the video editor are free for everyone, with no watermark and no time limit.
Does EveryCord add a watermark?
No. EveryCord never adds a watermark or logo to your recordings, live streams or edited videos.
Is there a time limit on recordings?
No. EveryCord sets no time limit: recordings and live streams run until you stop them. The free space on your device is the practical limit for recordings.
Does EveryCord show ads?
The EveryCord app has no ads from outside advertisers. We plan to show minimal ads only on everycord.net and app.everycord.net to help pay for servers. Ads are not serving yet. The native EveryCord apps will remain free of outside advertising.
Can EveryCord record internal audio on iPhone?
Yes. Choose App audio, Microphone or App audio + microphone as the audio source. To include your voice, also turn on the microphone in Apple’s recording controls. App audio depends on what the recorded app makes available.
Do I need an account to record?
No. Recording, editing, captions and streaming to a custom RTMP server work without an EveryCord account. Streaming to YouTube or Twitch asks you to sign in to that service. EveryCord Social in the beta uses a free account: sign in with Apple, Google or an email code.
Which devices does EveryCord run on?
EveryCord runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 or later. Anyone can watch EveryCord clips and live streams in a web browser.
