What Discord Go Live does on iPhone

Discord's Go Live and Screen Share page covers sharing your screen in a server voice channel or a call. Up to 50 people can share video or a screen at a time in a voice chat, and a stream has a maximum of 50 concurrent viewers plus the broadcaster.

Its mobile screenshare FAQ says you first connect to voice in a DM, group DM or server voice channel, then swipe up and press Screenshare. A system dialog appears, a countdown runs, and your screen is shared. In a server, your role needs the Video permission.

On quality, all users can stream up to 720p/30fps, and Nitro subscribers on iOS can stream up to 1080p/60fps; the mobile FAQ says resolution is adjusted only in the desktop app. Discord's Nitro page lists HD Streaming under Nitro, not Nitro Basic. Audio can be captured by mobile clients, though apps such as Netflix and Spotify block sharing.

Where Discord Go Live may suit you better

  • Your friends are already in a Discord server or group DM, and you want them to watch while you all talk in the same voice channel.
  • You do not want a public stream. Only people connected to your voice channel, DM or group DM can watch, and server roles control who shares.
  • You want to be on video while sharing your screen, which Discord's mobile FAQ says you can do.
  • There is nothing to set up: no stream key, no channel on another service, no second app.

Where EveryCord may suit you better

  • You want a public live stream on YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Facebook Live or X, started from the phone with no restreaming service.
  • You want up to three destinations at once, each straight from the device; if one drops, the others keep running.
  • You want to keep the video. EveryCord records with app audio, your microphone or both, with no watermark and no time limit.
  • You want friends on camera inside the stream: up to three co-hosts from their own iPhones, with a free EveryCord account.
  • You want chat moderation and clips. EveryCord Social has live chat with time outs, bans, slow mode and blocked words, plus clips anyone can open.
