EveryCord vs OBS Studio: streaming an iPhone screen

OBS Studio is free, open source desktop software for Windows, Mac and Linux with scenes, overlays and plugins; it has no iPhone app, so an iPhone screen has to be captured or mirrored into a computer first. What each one is
OBS Studio describes itself as free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Its download page lists Windows 10 and 11, macOS 13.0 or newer, and Linux, with version 32.2.2 current on October 21, 2026. A broadcast is built from scenes made of sources: window captures, images, text, browser windows, webcams and capture cards.
EveryCord is a free screen recorder and live streaming app for iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 or later). It streams the screen to YouTube, Twitch or any RTMP or RTMPS server on up to three outputs at once, each sent straight from the device. There is no subscription or paid upgrade.

Getting an iPhone screen into OBS
OBS Studio has no iPhone app; obsproject.com offers Windows, Mac and Linux downloads only. To stream an iPhone screen with OBS, the picture first has to reach the computer. OBS's Knowledge Base Smartphone Camera Guide covers the phone as a webcam, through apps such as Camo and EpocCam or Apple's Continuity Camera.
For the screen itself, the usual routes are a cable from the iPhone into a computer, a capture card, or mirroring to a receiver app on the computer and capturing its window. Twitch's help puts it plainly: with a PC, a mobile cable and a way to mirror your screen, you can use PC-based streaming tools.
EveryCord skips the computer. You pick EveryCord in Apple's screen recording controls, confirm Start Broadcast, and the iPhone or iPad encodes and sends the stream itself, up to 720p at 30 fps per output, with about 3 Mbps of upload per output.

Multistreaming
OBS Studio added Multitrack Video in version 30.2 in July 2024, first on Windows, then on macOS with Apple Silicon and on Linux in 31.1. Twitch calls it Enhanced Broadcasting: OBS sends several quality versions of the one stream to Twitch, which powers Dual Format and 2K streaming there. It is not a way to reach several platforms.
Neither OBS's release notes for 31.1 and 32.0 nor its Knowledge Base describe a built-in way to send one stream to several services. OBS's resource section lists community plugins for that, such as Multiple RTMP outputs and Aitum Multistream. A restreaming service is the other common route.
EveryCord sends up to three outputs at once straight from the phone, for example Twitch, YouTube and Kick, with no plugin and no restreaming service. If one output drops, the others keep running. Each output uses about 3 Mbps of upload.

Questions and answers
Is EveryCord a free alternative to OBS Studio for iPhone?
For streaming an iPhone or iPad screen, yes. Both are free, but OBS Studio runs on Windows, Mac and Linux and has no iPhone app, while EveryCord streams from the phone itself. OBS Studio remains the fuller production tool.
Is there an OBS app for iPhone?
Not from the OBS Project. On October 21, 2026, obsproject.com offered downloads for Windows, Mac and Linux only. Third-party iPhone camera apps can feed OBS on a computer, but they are not OBS.
Can OBS Studio stream to two platforms at once?
Not through a feature its own release notes describe as of version 32. Multitrack Video sends several qualities of one stream to Twitch. For two services, people use a plugin such as Multiple RTMP outputs or Aitum Multistream, or a restreaming service.
Does EveryCord have scenes and overlays like OBS?
No. EveryCord streams what is on the screen, with an optional camera window and co-host bubbles. For scenes, alerts and transitions, OBS Studio is the tool.
