EveryCord or Instagram Live: streaming an iPhone screen, with or without Instagram
Instagram Live is free inside the Instagram app, but Instagram's help page, read on October 21, 2026, says only public accounts with 1,000 followers or more can start a Live video. The app streams your camera, with up to three guests in Live Rooms; its help pages do not describe screen sharing. EveryCord, also free, streams the iPhone screen to YouTube, Twitch or any RTMP server. It can reach Instagram only through Live Producer on Instagram.com, with a stream key.

Instagram Live from the app
Instagram's help page says only Instagram users with a public account and 1,000 followers or more can start a Live video. Live is off by default for Teen Accounts; teens under 16 need a parent's or guardian's permission to turn it on.
On iPhone you swipe right in Feed, scroll to Live, add a title and tap Go live. Viewer counts and comments appear on screen, you can pin a comment, and on iOS you can show photos and videos from your camera roll. Nothing on the page describes sharing your screen.
With Live Rooms you can invite up to three guests, who must follow you. Requests to join appear in your room, and you remove a guest with the X on their video frame. You can also ask to join someone else's Live.

Live Producer and the stream key
Instagram's computer instructions describe Live Producer. On Instagram.com you click Create, choose Live video, enter a title and pick Practice or Public. Instagram then shows a unique URL and stream key. The key is not static and refreshes each time you use Live Producer.
You paste both into streaming software as a Custom RTMP destination, start the stream, watch the preview in Live Producer, and click Go live there. Instagram advises ending the live video in Live Producer before stopping the software, or viewers see a frozen last frame.
The 1,000 follower rule is the only requirement the page states; it does not mention a professional account. It adds that newly created accounts, and accounts with posts removed for breaking Community Standards, may not be able to go Live.
Where EveryCord fits
EveryCord streams the iPhone or iPad screen to YouTube and Twitch with sign-in, and to any RTMP or RTMPS server with a stream key, on up to three outputs at once. Each output goes straight from the device at up to 720p at 30 fps and about 3 Mbps of upload.
For Instagram, that means opening Live Producer on a computer, copying the URL and key into EveryCord as a custom RTMP output, starting the broadcast from Apple's recording controls, then clicking Go live on Instagram.com. If you cannot open Live Producer, EveryCord cannot reach Instagram.
Everything else needs no computer. Show my camera puts your face in a floating window on iOS 18 or later, up to three co-hosts join from their own iPhones, and recordings save with no watermark or time limit.
