What iLive's App Store listing says
iLive - Live Video Streaming is a camera broadcasting app sold by Charlie Pryor, with a 2017 BrightApps copyright line. The listing describes broadcasting HD video to your favorite live streaming service from anywhere: you add an ingest server of your choosing and your stream key, and one button goes live.
The app adjusts quality as bandwidth changes, has settings for data use and resolution, shows broadcasting statistics while live, and can stream from a GoPro. The listing says any RTMP URL works as the endpoint and names YouTube, Mixer (Beam), Twitch, Facebook Live, Periscope, Instagram and IGTV.
Version 2.1.3 arrived on August 19, 2020 with bug fixes. Earlier notes mention a Facebook Live fix in April 2020 and support for the multiple cameras on newer iPhones in November 2019. The app is 6.6 MB, requires iOS 11.0 or later, and the listing's compatibility section lists iPhone and iPod touch but no iPad row.
EveryCord is made by Symaro, LLC, so this comparison is not independent. Each fact about iLive is what its own App Store listing said on October 21, 2026; the developer website link on the listing goes to a social media profile, so no vendor help pages were available.
What the Pro subscription covers, and what the listing leaves out
The listing's in-app purchases are a Pro Streaming Subscription at $2.99 and Pro Streaming Features at $4.99. The description calls the subscription a one month auto-recurring plan that gives access to all pro setting features. Which settings those are is not described on the listing.
The listing does not say whether iLive records the screen, saves a recording, streams to more than one server at once, adds a watermark, or limits stream length on the free tier. The privacy section says the developer has not provided details about its privacy practices, and that details will be required with the next update.
Two of the named destinations, Mixer (Beam) and Periscope, are listed as the app described them in 2020. Check that any service you plan to use still accepts an RTMP server URL and stream key before relying on the list.

Where iLive may suit you better
- You stream from a GoPro. The listing says iLive is GoPro enabled and can stream from one; EveryCord streams the iPhone or iPad screen and its own camera.
- You want a camera broadcaster for a live event with a server URL and stream key and nothing else, in a 6.6 MB app.
- Your iPhone runs iOS 11, 12, 13 or 14, which iLive's listing supports and EveryCord does not.
- You want on-screen broadcasting statistics and manual data and resolution settings, which the listing describes.
Where EveryCord may suit you better
- You want to stream what is on your screen, such as a mobile game or an app, not only the camera. iLive's listing does not describe screen capture.
- You want more than one destination at once: up to three outputs, each straight from the device, with YouTube and Twitch sign-in so no key is needed for those two.
- You want recordings as well as streams: no watermark, no time limit, an editor, Facecam and automatic English captions.
- You want friends in the stream: up to three co-hosts from their own iPhones, plus live chat with moderation tools.
- You want a current app: EveryCord 2.5 shipped on October 21, 2026, while iLive's last update on the listing is from August 2020.

Which one for...
- Gaming on iPhone: EveryCord. It streams the screen with app audio and records at up to 60 fps. iLive sends the camera, and its listing does not describe screen capture.
- IRL camera streaming: either, depending on the camera. iLive streams a GoPro or the iPhone camera to any RTMP URL. EveryCord streams the screen with your camera as a window, so a camera app on screen is what viewers see.
- Tutorials and app demos: EveryCord, since the demo is on the screen and recordings get captions and an editor.
- Work and school videos: EveryCord, which records without an account and edits on the device. iLive's listing is about live broadcasting only.
- Streaming to several platforms: EveryCord, with up to three outputs at once. iLive's listing describes one server URL and stream key.
- Going live with friends: EveryCord, with up to three co-hosts invited by link. Not described on iLive's listing.
Common problems and what to check
- iOS version: iLive's listing requires iOS 11.0 or later and was last updated in August 2020. EveryCord needs iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 or later, and Show my camera needs iOS 18 or later.
- Closed or changed services: the iLive listing still names Mixer (Beam) and Periscope. Confirm that the service you want still issues an RTMP server URL and stream key.
- Upload bandwidth: EveryCord sends about 3 Mbps per output, so three outputs need roughly 9 Mbps of upload. iLive's listing says it adjusts quality as bandwidth changes, without numbers.
- iPad: iLive's listing has no iPad compatibility row. EveryCord records and streams on iPad with iPadOS 15 or later.
- Paid features: the listing does not say what the $2.99 Pro Streaming Subscription unlocks beyond pro setting features, so read the purchase screen in the app before subscribing.
- Stream keys: a key lets anyone who has it stream to your channel. Paste it into the app and do not show it on screen while recording.
How EveryCord does it
To go live, you sign in to YouTube or Twitch, or add a custom output with an RTMP or RTMPS server URL and stream key. Up to three outputs run at once, each straight from the device at up to 720p at 30 fps and about 3 Mbps; if one drops, the others keep running.
You then open Apple's screen recording controls, pick EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast. Viewers see what is on your screen with app audio and your microphone. On iOS 18 or later, Show my camera puts your face in a small floating window, with a free EveryCord account.
For a show with friends, you send an invite or invite link and up to three co-hosts join on camera from their own iPhones, appearing as bubbles in your stream. Afterwards, any saved recording can be trimmed and captioned in the editor.
