EveryCord or YouNow by YouNow, Inc.: what an iPhone streamer can actually do with each
YouNow, from YouNow, Inc., is a free social live streaming app for users 13 and older with guests, virtual gifts and OBS support. EveryCord, also free, streams your iPhone or iPad screen to YouTube, Twitch and any RTMP server, up to three at once. YouNow's OBS guide, read on October 21, 2026, hands out a stream key for WHIP, not RTMP, so EveryCord cannot send a stream to YouNow. It can stream the same screen anywhere that takes RTMP.

Going live in the YouNow app
YouNow is a social live streaming platform. Its App Store listing describes hitting Go Live instantly, streaming in portrait, landscape or as an avatar, inviting up to 3 guests, co-streaming games, and virtual gifts to support broadcasters. It says the platform is moderated by real humans 24/7 and is for users 13 and older.
The app is free with in-app purchases: Loose Change at $0.99, Starter Pack 2 at $1.99, Stack at $2.99, Vault at $4.99, Truckload at $9.99, Castle at $29.99, Rocket at $59.99, Cargo at $119.99 and a $4.99 subscription tier. It requires iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 or later, is 174.6 MB and is rated 13+ with advertising.
YouNow's Going Live article says you can broadcast from iOS, including iPad, and Android, or from a computer: tap the green camera button, pick a hashtag, take a snapshot and tap Go Live. Version 18.32.9 arrived on October 14, 2026 with performance work.
EveryCord is made by Symaro, LLC, so this comparison is not independent. Each fact about YouNow is what its App Store listing and support.younow.com articles said on October 21, 2026.
YouNow's OBS stream key is for WHIP, not RTMP
The listing puts OBS support under pro streaming features. YouNow's OBS Setup Guide says to visit younow.com, click Go Live, choose OBS, finish the broadcast setup and copy the stream key from the preview page. In OBS you choose the WHIP service, paste the key as the Bearer Token and use a younow.com WHIP address as the server.
WHIP is a WebRTC ingest method, not RTMP. EveryCord sends RTMP and RTMPS only, so there is no field in EveryCord where a YouNow key fits. YouNow's guide, updated August 2024, names only OBS and recommends 2,500 Kbps at 1280x720 and 30 fps, with the steps done in order: set up on YouNow, start OBS, then press Go Live.
YouNow's Simulcasting article says a broadcaster can paste a Twitch stream key under Settings and sign in with Google for a verified YouTube channel, then toggle simulcast when going live. The article does not say whether this works from the iPhone app.

Which one for...
- Gaming on iPhone: EveryCord, which streams the whole screen with app audio to Twitch, YouTube or Kick. YouNow's listing mentions co-streaming games, and its screenshare is described for browsers.
- IRL camera streaming: YouNow for a camera show with guests, gifts and an avatar option inside one social app. EveryCord for your camera as a window over the screen, with co-hosts, sent to YouTube or Twitch.
- Tutorials and app demos: EveryCord, with the screen, captions and recordings. YouNow's pages describe browser screenshare, not an iPhone screen.
- Work and school videos: EveryCord, which records with no account and no ads from outside advertisers. YouNow is a social app with gifts and advertising on its listing.
- Streaming to several platforms: both, differently. YouNow's support site describes simulcasting to Twitch and YouTube. EveryCord runs up to three outputs of its own, but none can be YouNow.
- Going live with friends: either. YouNow invites up to 3 guests; EveryCord has up to three co-hosts on camera from their own iPhones.
Common problems and what to check
- A YouNow key will not work in EveryCord. YouNow's guide hands out a WHIP stream key with a Bearer Token field; EveryCord's custom output needs an RTMP or RTMPS server URL.
- OBS order matters on YouNow: set up the broadcast on younow.com first, start streaming from OBS, then press Go Live. The guide says a slow setup can time out the broadcast.
- Simulcasting from YouNow needs a Twitch stream key pasted in Settings, or a verified YouTube channel signed in with Google. Verification can take up to 24 hours, per YouNow's article.
- Screen sharing on YouNow is described for browsers with an extension, with Chrome recommended. Sharing an iPhone screen from the app is not described on the pages read.
- Upload bandwidth: YouNow recommends 2,500 Kbps for OBS. EveryCord sends about 3 Mbps per output, so three outputs need roughly 9 Mbps of upload.
- Age: YouNow is for users 13 and older. EveryCord has no age rule of its own, but YouTube, Twitch and other destinations apply theirs.
How EveryCord does it
You add YouTube or Twitch by signing in, or paste a server URL and stream key for any RTMP or RTMPS destination such as Kick. Up to three outputs run at once, each straight from the device at up to 720p at 30 fps and about 3 Mbps; if one drops, the others keep running.
Then you open Apple's screen recording controls, pick EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast. Viewers see your screen with app audio and your microphone. On iOS 18 or later, Show my camera puts your face in a small floating window, with a free EveryCord account.
Up to three friends join as co-hosts from their own iPhones through an invite link, with their cameras as bubbles in your stream. Chat has delete, time out, ban, slow mode and blocked words, and any saved recording can get automatic English captions and edits.
