What each app is for

Moblin is a free, open source iOS app for IRL streaming by Erik Moqvist. Its App Store listing says it streams to Twitch and other platforms from your phone over SRTLA, SRT, RIST, RTMP and RTMPS, up to 4K at 60 fps in HEVC, with built-in chat. All features are free; buying icons is optional.

EveryCord, from Symaro, LLC, is a screen recorder and live streaming app for iPhone or iPad, on the App Store since February 2018. Version 2.5 came out on October 21, 2026. It streams what is on your screen, adds your camera as a floating window, records and edits, and brings co-hosts, live chat and clips.

EveryCord is made by Symaro, LLC, so this comparison is not independent, and each fact about Moblin here is what its own page said on October 21, 2026. The moblin.app site showed only its title when fetched, so the App Store listing and GitHub README are the sources.

Where Moblin may suit you better

  • You stream IRL from the camera on the move and want SRTLA or RIST bonding across cellular and Wi-Fi.
  • You run OBS on a computer and want to switch scenes, start and stop the stream and adjust audio from your phone.
  • You want open source. Moblin's code is public under the MIT license, so you can read it, build it and file issues.
  • You want widgets such as alerts, browser, map, scoreboard or VTuber overlays, and chat from Twitch, Kick and YouTube with text to speech.

Where EveryCord may suit you better

  • You want to stream a game or any app on your screen. EveryCord is built around Apple's screen recording, with app audio, microphone or both.
  • You want a recording you can edit. EveryCord records at up to 60 fps, then trims, merges, adds music, text, a facecam and automatic English captions.
  • You want YouTube and Twitch with sign-in, and up to three outputs at once without a relay.
  • You want friends on camera. Up to three co-hosts join from their own iPhones with an invite link, free.

Protocols, bonding and screen capture

Moblin's README lists RTMP, RTMPS, SRT, SRTLA, RIST and WHIP. It says SRTLA and RIST can use one cellular, one Wi-Fi and multiple Ethernet connections at the same time, and adaptive bitrate is available for SRT, SRTLA, RIST and RTMP. It also lists RTMP multistreaming and recording to MP4.

The README lists screen capture as a video source but does not describe it, and it notes that video cannot be captured in the background, so a background stream shows a frozen frame. The App Store listing requires iOS 16.4 or later.

EveryCord streams over RTMP and RTMPS, and signs in to YouTube and Twitch. Each of up to three outputs leaves the device on its own at up to 720p and 30 fps, about 3 Mbps upload per output. If one output drops, the others keep running. There is no bonding and no SRT.

How to stream your iPhone screen with EveryCord

  1. Install EveryCord from the App Store. Recording and streaming to a custom RTMP server need no EveryCord account.
  2. Add outputs: sign in to YouTube or Twitch, or paste an RTMP or RTMPS URL and stream key for Kick, Facebook Live, X or your own server. Up to three run at once.
  3. Open Apple's screen recording controls, pick EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast.
  4. Open your game. Each output leaves your device on its own at up to 720p and 30 fps.
  5. On iOS 18 or later, turn on Show my camera, or invite up to three co-hosts. Stop from the recording controls; the recording stays on your device.
