What each one is
EveryCord is a free screen recorder and live streaming app for iPhone and iPad from Symaro, LLC, on the App Store since February 2018. It records the screen with app audio, your microphone or both, and streams to YouTube, Twitch or any RTMP or RTMPS server on up to three outputs at once, each straight from the device.
There is no watermark, no time limit and no paid upgrade. Sparks are optional purchases viewers send in live chat to support streamers; recording, streaming, co-hosting, chat and clips are free for everyone.
Castr is a cloud service. You send one feed to Castr from an encoder, and Castr relays it to many destinations at once. Its multistreaming page says it accepts RTMP, RTMPS, SRT and WHIP, with OBS, vMix or a hardware encoder as example sources.
EveryCord is made by Symaro, LLC, so this comparison is not independent, and each fact about Castr is what its own pages said on October 21, 2026. Where a Castr page did not cover something, this post says so instead of guessing.

Where Castr may suit you better
- You stream from a computer or hardware encoder and want one upload with 6 to 30 copies sent from the cloud.
- Your upload connection cannot carry three streams at once. EveryCord sends about 3 Mbps per output from the phone.
- You need SRT or WHIP input, pull links, adaptive bitrate or custom transcoding, which Castr lists on Standard and above.
- You run events for a business and want a branded web player, a team and help from sales.
Where EveryCord may suit you better
- Your content is the iPhone or iPad screen. Castr does not capture it; its own help article sends phone users to a separate encoder app.
- You do not want a monthly bill. Castr lists no free plan on its pricing page; EveryCord is free with no paid upgrade.
- Three outputs are enough. EveryCord sends them from the device with no relay, and if one drops the others keep running.
- You also want recording, a facecam on saved videos, co-hosts, chat and clips in the same app.
How to send an EveryCord stream to Castr
- In Castr, create a live stream or multistream and copy its RTMP server URL and stream key from the dashboard.
- In EveryCord, add a custom RTMP output and paste the server URL and stream key. No EveryCord account is needed.
- Add up to two more outputs if you want, such as YouTube or Twitch with sign-in, each sent from the device.
- Open Apple's screen recording controls, pick EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast. Castr relays the feed to the destinations linked in its dashboard.
