Which one for...
- Gaming on iPhone: EveryCord. It captures the game on the phone you hold. Live Switcher Mobile combines gameplay and camera, but Canon's pages describe the gameplay coming from a secondary smartphone on the same Wi-Fi.
- IRL camera streaming: Live Switcher Mobile for a multi-camera show in one place with switching and overlays; EveryCord for one camera plus co-hosts who can be anywhere.
- Tutorials and app demos: EveryCord. Record the screen with app audio or microphone, add a facecam and automatic English captions, then trim and export.
- Work and school videos: EveryCord, which records and edits on the device with no account. Live Switcher Mobile records too, but is built around live switching on one Wi-Fi network.
- Streaming to several platforms: EveryCord, with up to three outputs straight from the device. More than one platform at once is not described on Canon's pages.
- Going live with friends: EveryCord. Up to three co-hosts join from their own iPhones with an invite link. Live Switcher Mobile's cameras must share one Wi-Fi network.
Common problems and what to check
- Everything on one Wi-Fi network. Canon's listing and FAQ say all cameras and smartphones must share the same access point, and a mobile router's privacy separator must be off. EveryCord's co-hosts connect over the internet.
- Local Network permission. Canon's FAQ says to allow Local Network for the app in iPhone Settings when the main phone cannot find a secondary phone or camera.
- iOS version. Live Switcher Mobile requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later; Canon lists iOS 18 and 26. EveryCord runs on iOS 15 or later; Show my camera needs iOS 18 or later.
- Audio on iOS 26. Canon's FAQ lists a known issue where audio may distort during screen sharing from a secondary phone on iOS 26 or later; it suggests earphones on that device.
How EveryCord does it
EveryCord has no switcher. Your screen is the stream: open Apple's screen recording controls, pick EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast, and it goes out to up to three outputs at once, each straight from your iPhone or iPad at up to 720p and 30 fps, about 3 Mbps each.
Cameras come in as bubbles. Show my camera floats your own camera over the stream on iOS 18 or later. Up to three co-hosts join with an invite link, each from their own iPhone, from anywhere with an internet connection, so there is no shared Wi-Fi to set up.
Everything can also be recorded on the device, then trimmed, cropped and captioned in the editor. Chat on EveryCord Social has delete, time out, ban, slow mode and blocked words. Co-hosting needs only a free account.
How to go live with friends on camera from your iPhone with EveryCord
- Install EveryCord from the App Store and create a free account with Apple, Google or an email code.
- Add outputs: sign in to YouTube or Twitch, or paste an RTMP or RTMPS URL and stream key. Up to three run at once.
- Send an invite or invite link to up to three friends. Each joins from their own iPhone and appears as a camera bubble.
- Open Apple's screen recording controls, pick EveryCord and confirm Start Broadcast. On iOS 18 or later, turn on Show my camera.
- Watch the stream and chat on the device. If one output drops, the others keep running.
